Boondocking in Manistee National Forest
Re: Boondocking in Manistee National Forest
I do not believe there is a campground on the lake.

Haven't had a chance to get up that way yet, but I do know that Torch lake looks amazing.
Are you able to find a camp ground on the lake itself? I quick look at Good Sam Club trip planner doesn't look like any camp grounds are actually on the shore of the lake.

Boondocking in Manistee National Forest
Looking at starting to plan a trip for the spring.
I would like to head up to Manistee and stay at the Lake Michigan Recreation Area for one night and then scout some boondocking locations. Considering staying for a night or two in the woods and then heading up to torch lake.
Anybody have any recommendations for Manistee dispersed camping? Is this different than primitive camping?
