Fairly new Satellite Owners

I too bought a Satellite 2018RB in April, 2018. While Camping World was good - they don't know much about their product. Thanks to Starcrafts Poor Workmanship, things broke immediately: The Propane Regulator had to be replaced as soon as I got it home. I leaned on the little table and the flimsy aluminum collar holding the pole up ripped. I opted to have a new one fabricated out of steel that works WAY BETTER. The Refrig. stopped working - had to be replaced. The Auto Tongue Jack also had to be replaced. Using the WARRANTY has been a nightmare as everything has to be approved. It took weeks to get approval and parts. The Camping World I was using (Fort Worth Texas) said they would not be doing Warranty work again as Starcraft was not reimburing them for the time it took to replace the Refrig.

HANGING CLOTHES: Having said that - I do love my little home. It has everything I need in it. I wish they would have offered an option to use the shower for hanging clothes instead of showering. I had an articulating shower pole installed for this, and put a 6-drawer plastic shelf in behind that. Since there isn't much to screw into - they did the best they could. I support the pole at both ends and in the middle with shower tension poles placed vertically to relieve the weight stress. It has worked great! I shower at the RV park.

CUTTING ELECTRICITY: Since my electricity is included in my rent, I also heat with a small electric heater. I cook with an electric induction cooking system that sits on top of a wooden cutting board over the stove. This way - I don't use any propane and save $$$$.

DISCOVERY! (The techs couldn't even tell me this) Don't worry about running your battery down if you are boon docking - as long as you have gas in your vehicle! If you completely run out of battery and are ready to leave, but your slide out is out - just plug into your car and start the engine. You don't even have to wait for the battery to charge. Your slide out will immediately pull in - and you can leave. GREAT!

DISCOVERY! Did you know the Automatic Jack has a HAND CRANK? I didn't! If you take the little plug off the top of the jack, you have a hand tool that was given to you when you bought the trailer. It is stowed with your Support Feet Stabilizer Crank. If your Auto Jack dies, you can hand crank your tongue up and down, so you aren't stuck. I called the technical help line and they didn't know it!

I posted a reply for you under the Satellite section, if you haven’t seen it yet, but I wanted to ask if anyone at CW explained to you about the blue coiled hose’s purpose? There’s a Topic regarding that on here, but so far nobody seems to know for sure.

Hello all,

My wife and I purchased a Satellite 17rb back in July and have been in love with it ever since. We traded in an old Puma 19FS and it’s been a world of difference. I just wish that our sales experience was as good as the trailer itself. I had no experience with Camping World before this purchase and now I wish I still didn’t have any.

But anyway, the Satellite has been a great trailer for us so far.
