I've been using an Amped SR10000 Range Extender about 6 months. It not only rebroadcasts the wireless signal, it has ethernet ports for direct connections. It works fine as far as doing its job. No problem in most cases getting 4-5 bars.

But getting a strong Wi-Fi signal is only part of the problem in RV parks. An even bigger problem is bandwidth. Think of it this way. Most parks have the equivalent of what you have at your house at home, great for a few users. But try sharing that between lots of others with many of them streaming movies, etc.

Recently we were at Ft. Boonesborough State Park in KY. There you have to pay for Wi-Fi, which I'm OK with as long as it works. We were about 10 feet from one of their antennas and didn't need a booster. Early morning was fine. But it got much slower later in the day. That was mid-week. By Friday, as the park filled up, it was almost impossible to even pull our email. Keep in mind we had 5 bars at all times.

My point is a booster or extender won't help with bandwidth. BTW, I just use the Internet for research and email, never to watch movies or play music.

I have used a couple of different ones, mostly when we are at the dirtbike track for the weekend. Son rides way more than my body can take, so I work at the picnic table. Price is not an indicator I have a 400.00 cisco one from office and a 100.00 from local computer store. 100.00 works way better.

at that price I would just give it a try, but I a computer geek, and must have 1 of everything.

I'm looking for something to help me receive the typical weak signal in most RV parks. The more I research these things the more confused I get, and the pricing can run anywhere from $20 to over $400. I realize that you usually get what you pay for, but I don't want to spend a small fortune on this thing. What works for you guys? Any advise would be appreciated.
