2012 comet 1224 to buy or not to buy!

Hello all! Im new to the forum and to pop-ups in general. I have a delema! The wife and I are ready and eager to upgrade from the tent to the mighty pup camper. I have located a 2012 starcraft comet 1224 that is in extremely good condition, in fact the inside looks like the day it was bought new and the outside is only slightly weathered. The problem is I put a down payment on it so they would hold it for me and went to see it in person last night and to start paperwork. When looking I found that the left front corner is soft, very soft from either the storage lid or the water heater leaking. I am capable of repairing it but the issue is they want 7900.00 for it. I told them to pound sand for that price, but if they would knock off about 2k I may still buy it and fix it. Am I stupid to spend even the 6k for something that needs floor work? It appears to be a 3 foot area of softness that just creeps out from the edge of the bed inside.
