I'm not an expert on this subject but have had 4 RV's. All were different types with different tire pressures. I do know the experts say to run RV tires at the "max" pressure, because that figure is tied to your trailer's GVWR. The max pressure always assumes the tires are cool and takes into account the pressure will go up while driving. Long story short - if you're running your tires at say 5% less than the max, you must also have your trailer weight 5% less or risk a blow out.
I will say "max" seems a poor choice of words. Makes it sound like something bad will happen if you exceed it. But again the experts say tires blow due to under inflation and/or heat not over inflation.

Tire pressure
Have a new Starcraft 26.5 trailer. The maximum tire pressure on the tires that came with the trailer is 65. The required pressure as per the manual is 65. We are concerned with this. There is no room for expansion on the road with these requirements. What do you folks think?
