Radio antenna very poor reception

Post by Vionykak » February 5th, 2019, 4:11 am

Hi

I have poor radio reception in my 04 WRX. I believe the antenna is hidden in the rear window glass.
I did a search and it appears that this can happen if your headunit antenna power cable isnt plugged in.. Turns out my headunit Pioneer does not have this cable. Only the input for the main antenna.

Rear window is also tinted, which I dont think helps.

Wondering if anyone has had the same problem and had any success in boosting the signal?

I changed the factory radio and noticed the splitter and most connections from the digital roof antenna were loose.Using the TV amplifier helps some.
Will upgrade the speakers next.

Radio antenna, very poor reception

Where has Starcraft hidden the radio antenna? My radio gets very poor, nearly no stations anywhere I have been, including sitting in my yard. I did find the radio antenna wire in the space above the radio had not been plugged in, but after plugging it in it was now better. If it is internal with the TV antenna, how can a digital TV signal and an FM radio share the same antenna?
