I replumbed my Coleman to run off the outside propane connect on my Launch 24rls last year. I removed the Coleman regulator and saved it. In fact, I've hooked it back up a couple times for non-camping.

I did run into a problem finding an adapter and fittings that would work with the Starcraft outside connector. I tried a Camco and something else, but neither would snap into the Starcraft port even though they looked like they should work. Apparently, the Starcraft female connector is proprietary. Anyway, long story short - I bought a Camco kit that included a matching female port and replaced the Starcraft end.

Simply have 2 end connectors. Use one for the low pressure trailer connection, the other for high pressure tanks.

Thanks for your replies.

It's the removal of the Coleman regulator that concerns me. I'd like to keep that part intact, in the event I want to use the grill as a stand-alone not when trailer camping. There should be some sort of connection, with proper fittings, to connect to the trailer (quick connect) and then to the grill. Seems that the threads where the regulator connects to the grill may be proprietary to Coleman. Just a guess. Maybe I need to get with a plumber, or hardware store for fittings.

Just remove the grill regulator and hook a small pigtail to the grill may need some fittings. Buy a 10 foot gas hose with correct male and female ends. I have used this setup for 2 years . I use a stainless brinkman from home depot $99 dollars works great. It comes with a regulator that i removed.

We have a 2016 Launch 24 RLS. We bought a Coleman Grill and planned to use the quick connect at the rear of the trailer. Problem we encountered was that the Coleman had it's own regulator and the trailer had it's regulator. Two regulators doesn't work. There needs to be a way to hook up the quick connect of the trailer to the Coleman without using the Coleman regulator, but we haven't figured out how as yet.

Welcome to the Starcraft forum. You'll find it helpful and informative if you logon on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if an older grill will work or not. I would suppose if it has the correct connection to the LP quick connect. My trailer came with the grill that connects with it, but it was the Auzie Grill.

Outdoor quick connect to Coleman grill?

Post by Carlarathmann » April 16th, 2017, 9:38 pm

Hi
Just brought home our 16rb yesterday. We plan to cook outside with the quick connect. We did not get the stove to attach on the rail. Is it possible to connect it to an old fashioned Coleman stove that uses the little propane bottles or do I need to invest in the stove that attaches?
