Battery replacement time
Re: Battery replacement time
Switch to led lights and one battery will go a long time. Cheaper and no maintenance

One battery on my 2016 26BHS. It sounds like the previous owner added one. I don't think a second battery is a factory option.

Re: Battery replacement time
We have one battery. We don't need two as we have a Honda 3000 generator, and as Texans, burn as much petrochemicals as we can. Some days I think about adding another, but the urge passes.

Re: Battery replacement time
I'm curious, as we discuss batteries, if any other Starcraft Launch Ultra Lite 26BHS owners have two batteries on the tongue? I checked yesterday and noticed that the two plastic battery boxes were not identical nor were the two batteries. This is the first time I opened up the battery box since I purchased the trailer last July. I bought it second hand from the starcraft dealer that the original owner traded it in at. I'm just curious about this. The batteries held up great this past winter with just loosing a bit of volts. Hooked up my new 15 watt solar panel yesterday for a few hours and it charged them up in just a little while. They are deep cycle type 24.
I'm just curious about this.

I bought my 2016 last July (I was the second owner as they traded it in on a motor home). It has two batteries on the tongue. I'm just curious if any other of you with the same model of trailer have two batteries on the tongue of your 2016 Starcraft Launch Ultra Lite 26BHS? I'm just wondering if they added another one since the plastic battery boxes do not match and neither do the batteries (but they are both type 24). They held up great this long winter just went down a little bit. I spent a couple of hours with the trailer yesterday trying out my new 15 watt solar panel and it seemed to charge the batteries right up. It also has the 30gallon LP tanks as well.

Re: Battery replacement time
When my factory supplied battery died I researched batteries to the extreme. Regular, deep cycle, marine, wet cell, dry cell, blah blah blah.
Long story short - I bought myself a typical, old school, 12 volt, deep cycle Interstate (my favorite) battery and plopped it in.

Battery replacement time
It is time to install a new battery in my (new to me) Travel Star Toy Hauler. What I don't know is what are the original specs for a single battery when it was new. I have found the online version of a brochure, but it doesn't give stats on the single battery that goes on the tongue. I have the onboard Onan generator, and wonder if this is part of the equation for battery size?
With battery technology advances recently, are there better options today than there were in 06' when this toy hauler first sold.
What should I be looking for, and what should I stay away from?
Thanks,
John
