Brake Controller advise
Re: Brake Controller advise
I have a T3 I'd sell you. I took it out of my last truck & have no use for it.
Re: Brake Controller advise
Well, I learned something new from this ... I guess I'll have to get a brake controller and will take the advice given and buy the Tekonsha 90195 P3 along with the proper adapter. Glad this thread came into being!! Thanks to all of you all!!

I agree with Dave. You can't go wrong with the Tekonsha 90195 P3. That being said, I use the Primus IQ Proportional Braking System Model 90160 (also made by Tekonsha). It is more basic, a little less money and goes for $95 at etrailer.com.
I had a cheaper brake controller once. I never could get it to brake smoothly. It also liked to cook my trailer brakes sitting at a stop light with my foot on the brake pedal. I can watch my Tekonsha/Primus ease off on the brake voltage sitting at a stop light.
Another thing I like about the Tekonsha controllers is you can find vehicle adapter cables for them at lots of RV supply houses. Saves cutting into you truck's wiring harness.

Re: Brake Controller advise
Dave, my thoughts exactly! I had one installed on my tow vehicle for about $150 installed. I wouldn't even consider towing a TT without brakes (electric or disc) and the proper controller. I'd say shop around online and see what kinda deal you can get.

I mean this with all due respect, my friend.
Google Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic Brake Control. Look at the reviews and Youtube videos. It’s the default standard in my opinion.
Thanks Dave
