Manual slide retractor?

With the Schwintek style slideout if it has truly failed electrically and will not operate, you will have to disengage the motors on each side of the slide and manually push the slide in. Then you have to figure out how to keep it in by re-engaging the motors or blocking the sllideout from the inside.

Whoever told you that must have had their first day on the job... the procedure is described in the trailer's main manual, but Lippert's docs are better. I made sure I knew where the controller was located (inside the furnace enclosure) and that I had the right size socket and tools to turn the motor shaft outside, also need a ladder.

Best to be prepared. Can't go anywhere with the slideout extended! I found a good troubleshooting doc from Lippert, but apparently, this forum doesn't allow pdf docs to be attached.

btw - Lippert manufactures many of the components in the trailer. Schwintek happens to be Lippert's brand name for their slideouts.

We just took delivery of a 2017 24rls and during the PDI walk through we asked about how to put the slide back in if there was no power or a motor problem. To our surprise we were told that there was no way to manually close the slide. Was this correct or does anyone here know the secret? I can't believe that Starcraft made no provision for a manual operation.
