Need more clearance to lower tailgate

I will try that the next time I hook up to the trailer, I don't need much more clearance. The tailgate hits the head on the jack and that may give me the little extra that I need. Thanks for the idea HLP

I had a similar problem on my old trailer my tailgate hit the power tongue jack.

What I did to fix the problem was turn the Jack sideways this allowed enough room to lower the tailgate on my truck.

It worked for me.

I am needing to add a longer shank on my reciever hitch to clear the jack on my TT in order to lower the tailgate all the way. I need to extend the shank about 2 inches, has anyone done this. Did it have any effect on the WDH or trailer sway control.
