Surge protector

I have a 2008 19ck, it's in storage at the moment but was looking at ESP surge protection for the spring. The power station I don't believe is easily accessible from the rear of trailer but would need to be pulled out to mount a permanent protector. Am I better off just using the pole mount system or am I over thinking this?
