2014 Travelstar 229TB I had to get ALL 3 bunks canvas replaced because tiny holes were developing (sunlight magnified the problem) which eventually grew larger. Starcraft eventually replaced the canvas, but it cost me the labor for removal and installation. Having the same issue again 3 yrs later, and the canvas is suppose to have a 7 yr warranty!
The thing you will notice is the polymer coating on the canvas is uneven...thicker in some areas and thinner in others.

I doubt mildew could have showed up that quickly.
My guess is, like you said, discoloration from rubbing against the screens or something else.
Starcraft 229tb mildew issue after 2 days?

Hi, my family has just purchased our first trailer, a new 2015 StarCraft 229tb. We were/are very excited about it, but this morning after my first night sleeping in it I noticed some discoloration on the fabric of the bed ends. I seems that on the inside of the sides of the bed ends there are marks on the fabric. I am going to call the RV dealer I bought from tomorrow but I wondered if anyone else has seen this? Is it likely mildew? Is it just some mark from the plastic screening on the outside? Any info would be appreciated. If it is mildew I will be returning it for a different model.
thanks,
j-rod
