Unfortunately, that is a very common issue. They manufacturer of the sleeper sofa (not Starcraft) uses a very cheap grade of vinyl that deteriorates in only a couple of years. We had the same issue and just had the sofa recovered with a much better fabric.

Sofa sleeper fabric problem

Post by ClintB » February 28th, 2019, 5:39 pm

We have a Starcraft bunkhouse camper that we purchased new less than two years ago. In September we noticed that the vinyl fabric on the couch was cracking and flaking off. Since the camper is still under warranty we took it back to the dealer for repair. We were told this was normal wear and not covered by warranty.
At that point we had only taken the camper out for 31 days and we had never used it as a bed. This doesn’t seem like normal wear to us. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your solution?
