I use one of the same Valterra flushers and it works great. Nary a clog with our fancy terlit paper and poor eating habits.

I think I looked at the same thing at Camping World, but doesn't it a require a straight pipe into the tank? I have a pretty hard 90 degree bend on my black tank just before the discharge cap. So I am not sure a device like that would work well.

If you camp 4+ months straight, this is bound to happen sooner or later. Trust me - it would be much better to plan ahead. Running a cleanout cable into the open outside connection is going to be messy when the blockage gives way.

Anyway, once I had things back to normal, I went to the local RV store and bought a Valterra Hydro-Flush to reverse clean the tank once a week. It fits on the outside connector, has its own open/close valve and a water hose connection. It's also clear so you can see when things are clean.

I'm amazed by how much toilet paper stays in the tank after dumping. It usually takes filling the tank 3-4 times before paper quits coming out, and we use RV paper.

The best part is knowing if I had a clog, I could now clear it with water pressure inside the sealed Hydro-Flush.
