Please put this where it will do the most good!
2017 21FBS -
Packing to leave on a trip and the SLIDEOUT will not slide IN. Dealer says "Find the controller and press the button 6 times."
5 HOURS LATER I finally read that some poor guy found his in the bathroom, under the sink, and behind a false panel. BINGO! (...and I still haven't put the couch back .)
Even if you know what I'm talking about...please read on.... For those of you'all who until last week were like me, the SLIDEOUT CONTROLLER is "usually" a little 4"x4"x2" electronic controller for the single slideout - (I know nothing about multiple ones) When it doesn't work, neither does the slideout - and on my in-wall slideout (as opposed to frame-mounted), there is NO way to manually move it.
Look one up on the net - mine is a Lippert in-Wall Slide-Out Controller V-Sync II, Black, Part #: 13398-D0. Price for this little sucker ranges from $150, new on eBay to $538 on Lippert's site last week. The eBay one was 2-weeks out, so Amazon 2-dayed one for $343.
Anyhow, look in the upper-left corner. There is a rectangular square cut-out where you are to look at the LEDs and where the 6-press button is. I "think" a drop of condensation just happened to fall from under the sink, right through that cutout. I put a piece of tape over it on my new one.
LESSON LEARNED - 1. If you have a slideout, know where the controller is. It appears to be a big joke around the industry that the installers put them "...anywhere and everywhere, under a drawer, in the wheel well, in the furnace compartment, etc." I learned that while on the phone with StarCraft Customer Service. (their schematic indicates the wheel well)
2. Make sure the controller is protected.
