Our back up camera only works when the running lights are on. But I love having that camera to see what's behind me.

I wired my backup camera to the inside lights which also run at the rear wall of the coach inside the upper cabinet. The camera runs 24 hours a day, as long as the battery has juice.

The pre-wired connector on my trailer was wired backwards. Swapped the wires and all was fine. I haven't had any problems since.
You have to have your running lights on to operate.

Many of the backup/rear view cameras don't get any power unless the running lights for the vehicle are on.

The 12V wiring on travel trailers is somewhat confusing, as they seem to us residential AC wire colors for most of the 12V system but not all. White would be ground and black would be 12V positive. In your case the mystery would be the green wire. I think you need to figure out what powers the green wire. I have been told it should be powered up by turning on the tow vehicle lights. Odd that it is a green wire, as for trailer lights it would normally indicate it is for the right turn signal/brake light.

Hello: I just took delivery of my 2017 24rls today. I got the plug and play back up camera. Not getting power to rear camera because blue light isn't on. I can pair with monitor inside my vehicle everything works. It's my understanding the power source for the rear is picked up from a DC source such as a light wire which seems to be the case. My question is this. They have the red camera wire going to a green source wire and the black camera going to a white source wire. These source wires come out and loop back in with the camera wires fastened with a squeeze clamp. So do I try to squeeze them more move them or is it wired backwards. please help tks
