Next make sure all the switches are turned on to power the element. That means the circuit breaker in the breaker box, any wall switch (if you have one) inside your RV, and the switch on the water heater itself. The switch on the water heater is on the back of Atwood water heaters so you get to it from inside the camper. On a Suburban water heater, you have to access it from the outside of your camper by opening the water heater door and looking in the lower left hand corner (It is hard to see and often hard to push).

My prior had a switch on the heater . Open the outside wh. panel and look for a small switch. Mine was almost hidden

It has a switch for electric or propane, just was wondering if there was a secondary switch somewhere for the electric....

My 16 only has propane my old fun finder had both and you could use both at the same time for greater supply. Much better imo.

We have the 2017 launch 24rls and it has the water heater that works on both gas or electric. There are 2 on-off switches with the other controls, labeled for either gas or electric. We have used both and the electric heats the water just as quickly as the gas does. And the campsite pays for the electric and I save gas for grilling steaks with.

I have a 2016 Launch 26bhs. Gas only water heater. I verified with Starcraft. They are gas with electric start.

My 2016 24rls has a propane only Atwood water heater. I know they make an electric model, but as far as I know it's not available as a Starcraft factory option. From what I've heard the 120 volt electric water heaters take forever to heat up and don't get very hot.

Water Heater not working on electric

Post by gsmith » June 24th, 2016, 7:50 pm

Bought a new 2016 24RLS Launch Lite and this is our second trip out with it. The water heater works great running off of propane but can not seem to get it to work on electric. Anyone else have this problem or have an idea of what might be wrong?
