I have that on my 'wish' list and after I install the larger exterior grab handle I'm going to install the Camco elec heater kit. It just makes a lot of sense and should be easy to install as I have easy access to the hot water heater and 110 power.

I converted it to all electric before the second camp trip. I used the Camco Hybrid Heat Conversion Kit. I love it, it is an awesome product. You can switch the power on and in 30-45 minutes, you have really hot water. Cost $61 for the kit from Walmart with free shipping to my local store.

I agree with uct:
I don't fill my tank just to use the water heater, matter of fact, I typically drain as soon as I do hook up, then refill some for the road. I do that so we can use our own facilities and wash hands anytime we are pulling our trailer ... we like to explore
There is clearly a problem that needs to be addressed. The water heater does not check tank levels unless something was modified, somewhere.

Something is not right. Never heard of the fresh water tank affecting the water heater. Was there air in the tank? Is it propane only or elect and propane.

Just made my first trip with my new 18QB, and had water heater trouble. Someone said that although it is hooked up to park water, that the fresh water tank must be at least 1/3 full for the water heater to light and operate. Is this correct? I got it to light and did good the first day. The next day I drained the fresh water tank, and the water heater shut off. It never operated correctly after that. Any ideas about what may have went wrong? Thanks.
