We used epoxy coated screws for setting cement board to framing. "Backer-On" they are called

1- They were handy in the shop
2- They will never rust
3- They have pretty vicious threads which hold really well
4- They were the right length 1 ¼ inches
5- The olive drab green color was hidden by the black awning.

Found the rail at a small local rv place. Did you mount the rail with the screws down or up and do you remember what length screws you used for the 2 brackets with block 2x4 brackets. Thanks for all your help.

We bought our track from a local RV sales /repair facility , Lone Star on hwy 45 just north of us.

We screwed the brackets to the fiberglass not the flange around it. Locating the bracket in the very upper corners where the smooth fiberglass meets the flange. This means the awning itself drags on the very top edge of the slide out, but we figure the awning can take the abuse. We don't see any wear after 74 nights camping and 9300 miles this year.

Since the sidewall of the slide is so thin, we use a block of 2x4 inside the slide (cabinet) to secure the screws and bracket. A test screw hole tells the person inside where to hold the blocking.

I ordered what I thought was a Lippert awning from Amazon. We were sent a knock off which began to tear right away. Amazon fixed the problem and Lippert sent a new one. Not a single problem with the new one after 7000 miles.

Installation was very simple but took 2 people.

No downsides that I can see.
Does the 24 rls have the awning channel(rail) on the trailer already? Mine is in storage thanks
