Found exposed wiring in the wire that goes up thru canvas near one of the uprights. It contacted the upright that particular night and popped it. All is well now. Thanks

What Kuba said. Start with a new breaker, they are cheap.

Then start looking for the short - loose wires what have arced would be first on my list.

It is possible that the breaker has just gone bad, they do go bad if they are tripped/heated .... it is also possible that you have a short or an intermittent short behind your light fixture. You need to do some testing with a volt/amp meter in order to isolate the problem. or just start replacing things until the problem goes away. Personally, I'd replace the breaker, first given it is 35 years old .....

1981 Starmaster breaker keeps popping

Post by jjyoung500 » August 16th, 2016, 2:37 am

Issue with 1981 Starmaster. Recently when using interior lights, my breaker under the bench keeps popping. I do not use a batter, just the converter. Doesn't matter if I try and turn light on above slide out bunk, as soon as I switch from off to converter, it pops. I had noticed previously some issues with that particular light flickering. I don't have anything else powered (no electric fridge, the other light is not turned on). My outlets work just fine. Any thoughts? Thanks, Jeff
