Keep in mind that propane fired generators are slightly less efficient, and thus you will use more fuel. Just food for thought.

Dual propane too much?

Post by jcarlilesiu » January 26th, 2015, 2:16 pm

I have a Launch 16rb.

Just recently had a birthday and asked for a dual 20# propane mount and cover. I got it!

My ultimate goal is to get (or convert) a generator to run off propane so that I don't have to carry gas cans. In that case, I suppose its good to have the extra propane for boondocking to run a propane generator to recharge the batteries. Also considering a bbq that runs off of propane. I am thinking that I will put a nice long propane hose with quick release on a splitter just after the regulator and be able to run the propane line 10 - 20 feet away from the trailer to the generator.

Anybody ever done this before?

How long does everybody last on their tanks? Realizing that various things like the furnace may make a huge difference.
