Adding Air to Tires

I am using CAT - 3 in 1 Air Compressor which is 12 volts. I think it will be an apt for you. This 3 in 1 Air Compressor also has a powerstation and a jump starter. So you can give it a try.

Thanks - I'll keep the bike shops in mind. I did pick up the 12v air compressor at Harbor Freight jcarlilesiu mentioned and was elated to see it came with a brass screw on valve fitting. Seems well made. I let some air out of the spare and did a test to see how fast it could take a tire from 42 lbs to 50 lbs. It took about 30 seconds, which I thought was pretty good for the little guy.

All of this brings up a question. Has anyone seen a screw-on valve connector like old tire pumps used to have? At 50 lbs and higher, it's hard to get a good seal.

I broke the flip style fitting on my bike pump a few years ago. My local bike shop had a supply of the old style screw on fittings. Check a few of your local bike shops, bet they have them.

My old cadillac didn't have a spare tire, so it came with a 12 volt air pump.

I knew my trailer tires were a little low (42 lbs) and wanted to get them back up to 50 lbs before leaving on a trip. I do have a small 2 gallon air compressor that I used to carry in my Class C, but unfortunately, my storage place doesn't have any electrical outlets available. And there isn't a convenient place around here to pull a trailer in at a pay-for-air.

So, I decided to experiment with my bicycle air pump. I can hear you guys laughing already. At the risk of continuing my story... it's a Bell Air Attack 450 High Volume pump that supposedly can do 100 lbs.

It took 45 strokes to go from 42 to 50 lbs per tire, and my 24rls has (4) ST 205 14 R75's. The last 20 on each tire were real gut busters! I don't see how anyone could go above 50 lbs on a full size tire without breaking the pump or themselves. I'll never do that again. Actually, it wouldn't be too bad getting a tire up to say 40 lbs in an emergency and is worth carrying whether you have bikes or not.
