We have one we bought from Gander Mountain it has 3 side walls plus a screen walls. It was a little pricey but have loved it. Have had no problems from heavy rains or wind. as long as it's secure. This is the one we have if the link works for ya. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/p ... s&i=760902

thanks, it is the canopy you would set up over the picnic table. we do all our cooking outside so the canopy is nice to have over the picnic table while preparing and cooking food and also for the rain and hail and snow for protection.

Sorry, can't be much help here.

We got the electric awning on the launch standard.

I still have to droop one side if it rains, but overall, its simple a push button to open it up.

camping canopy

Post by max2bob » February 15th, 2015, 6:09 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any good experience with an ez up type camping canopy. I have always had good luck with the old fashioned kind with the poles and tie down strings but the wife likes the ez up kind. I have been doing a lot of research but seems like they all have issues, a lot due to the fact of rain colleting on the top and collapsing the whole structure. that is how we lost the last one. rained over night while we were sleeping and the rain collected on the top till it broke the structure.
it is nice not having the tie down ropes getting in the way and such but that is a small price to pay for having a canopy that will last for more than a few trips. any ideas or thoughts are welcome.
as a side note; the grizzlies are coming out of hibernation already and this just the middle of February! must be careful while snowshoeing in the park!
