Re: Roof leak 17RB?
Ednewell, I can’t say how it is today, since we traded our Satellite for a larger TT last year, but I can say that there was no noticeable warping while we did have it. The lap-strip on the ceiling, where it was dripping on my wife’s pillow, was replaced under warranty when the roof was resealed and...

Re: Pre-wired fo roof vent?
Thanks. For us with the Satellite, it didn’t even come equipped with one of those anemic fans from the factory, so this is quite an improvement for us.

Re: Pre-wired fo roof vent?
After finally receiving an undamaged Vortex II kit, I just updated another post on here that I have completed the fan upgrade to my roof vent successfully and enjoying the forward/reverse speeds on this Vortex II to help in the seasons we enjoy in the mountains and to stop the smoke alarm from going...

Re: New Starcraft Satellite 17 RB owners
To update my last post after finally receiving one undamaged, and to help others installing one of the Vortex II upgrade, on my Satellite it was my wife who noticed the roof vent crank mechanism has 2 locations on the fan housing, with my vent requiring moving the crank mechanism to the outside posi...

Re: New Starcraft Satellite 17 RB owners
For anyone else with a 17RB wishing to change the non-powered vent to a powered, I found the simplest way to get power to the vent is to fish a wire to the overhead cabinet above the dinette and tie into the circuit at the power-awning switch, rather than trying to get to the bathroom light at the r...

Re: Top seal on slideout failed on 17RB
Yes, I found mine lying on the inside top of the slide just a couple months after buying it new last October. I chose to reattach it myself using a pneumatic staple gun after seeing that’s all that held it originally. That was over 6 months ago and a few long trips, so far with no more issues. It wa...

Re: Pre-wired fo roof vent?
Thanks Kuba, after reviewing some other posts on here and the Jayco Forum, that I’m going to try the Vortex II upgrade (3 speed in/out model) to keep from breaking the roof seal while it’s still under warranty and hope I can fish the wiring through to the bath light circuit.

Re: More propane. More batteries, solar!
I was advised by the Starcraft dealer’s Service Manager (NOT CW!) who corrected some initial problems with our unit (roof and shower leaks) to not leave the battery disconnect On once the battery was fully charged. He claimed he has seen too many fried batteries from people who always kept them conn...

Re: More propane. More batteries, solar!
Thanks for the quick reply and information! That makes sense with storage for you, I have a 30a circuit where I store ours at home, so keeping it charged isn’t an issue for us, actually having to use the disconnect to keep from overcharging our single battery. We rarely boondock so far, but that may...

Re: Satellite 16KS leaking
Under the Starcraft Satellite group, you’ll find my Post of “Roof Leak 17RB” from our experience last Fall with our new 17RB. It was corrected by completely replacing the caulking along both sides of the roof, fortunately while under warranty. Plenty of rainy days since and not a drop inside.
