Slide topper

We used pieces of 2x4 as we had that laying around the garage. Since they are in the upper corners of the cabinet, they are hard to see.

After making pilot holes from the outside to see the location on the inside, the DH held the blocking in place while I ran the screws in from the outside.

Does the 8 footer keep rain and leaves from blowing in the ends?

Thanks did you use 1x or 2x blocks? How do they attach to the tt itself

We ordered one on Amazon It worked great for 3000 miles then started to tear along the leading edge. Long story short- we were sent a knock off not the Lippert we thought we were getting. They fixed it. The new awning has 6000 miles on it with no problems.

We ordered an 8 footer in black. The only thing we elected to do differently was to add wood blocking inside the cabinet to anchor the epoxy coated decking screws we used to secure the bracket to the side of the slide out as there wasn't much meat for the brackets to hold on to.

Would do it again in a heartbeat, but this time order directly from Lippert.

After this past weekend, I'm ready to install one, too! I had the misfortune of having to retract mine just after it had rained, because we were on a tight time table. No fun... water ran off the top all over the place inside. It must have had a pool up there.
