Good looking setup. I have a 2011 Citadel with the Hemi and the combo is great.

Happily it was an uneventful trip. Kept it a at about 62 mph most of the way on the NYS Thruway. We were passed by a bunch of 18 wheelers and didn't notice any sway at all. I did learn extended mirrors are a must. I'll be getting a pair on our return home. Thanks all for the input.

We're in the middle of a 10 day trip with our 24rls. I decided to weigh it at a Pilot the other day. It was about 5,450 lbs on the trailer axles, which doesn't count hitch weight. I'm guessing that is another 700 or so, which would total 6,150. Getting close to the GVWR of 6,250, but I don't know what I could remove. I believe the sticker says it weighed 5,326 with full propane tanks when it left the factory. So, I've got a little over 800 lbs cargo in it. I'm blaming it on my wife's clothes and a full refrigerator.

Go slow( under 65). When passed by an 18 wheeler learn how your combo feels. With short tv and a long trailer do not turn left or right too soon. Pay special attention to stopping distances . Have fun.We are heading out thurs with the same trailer, about 2 hours to lake hartwell.

24rls - First time out tomorrow.

Post by Dadof4 » August 3rd, 2015, 2:38 am

I'll be towing a 24rls travel trailer about 250 miles tomorrow with our 2015 Durango Hemi with the factory installed tow package. It will be the first time I have towed it other than to bring it home. The trailer will weight about 5800 pounds loaded with a 650 pound tongue weight. The total weight in the vehicle including my wife and I will be about 400 pounds. Everything is within specifications as outlined in the Durango's owners manual including the frontal area of the trailer. The dealer installed an Equalizer brand weight distribution hitch with sway control. My only concern is the length of the trailer at 29 feet rear bumper to coupler. Any advise or tips would be appreciated. Thanks
